Volunteer opportunities

It has been described that volunteers are the lifeblood of community sport. Here at Access Sport we have a number of exciting opportunities for you to volunteer your time with us including community sports events and within the community clubs that we develop where there are a multitude of ways you can lend a hand and change young lives through sport!

COVID-19 UPDATE: We hope you can come and volunteer with us soon as our clubs start to re-open - watch this space! In the meantime why not keep active or test your creativity with your own fundraising challenge?

JOIN TEAM100

Team100 is Access Sport’s pilot volunteering project, empowering local people to get their community more active. We are developing new approaches to community volunteering maximising inspirational local people and clubs.

Team 100 is currently operating in 3 areas, so if you live near Burgess Park-London, Charlton-London, or Easton-Bristol please get in touch to get your community more active. There are so many ways you can do this, from coaching to catering and social media to secretary.

and check out our Facebook.

 Volunteer at a community event

Through our three award-winning programmes, our club team often arrange exciting community sports events engaging hundreds of local children and young people. Previous events include sports festivals, BMX races - and many more!

How you can help at these events:

  • Co-ordinate and manage both mainstream and disabled school competitors e.g. at BMX School Games Series, Ignite Annual Showcase
  • Supporting event operations: set up, registration, running of the event activities, pack down
  • Supporting a competitive racing event at the BMX School Games: start gate mashal, track co-ordinator, finish line official

Support your local community sports club

The community sports clubs that we support exist through the generous support of inspirational volunteers.

You can support a community sport club in a broad range of different ways, for example:

  • Supporting the coaching of sessions
  • Promoting sessions in the local community
  • Helping to set up outreach in the local community
  • Being the club's welfare officer
  • Looking after the club's social media to help increase their reach
  • Supporting the club with their finances/ admin
  • Recruiting volunteers to support the club's sustainability and growth

... the list goes on!

If you are interested in getting involved or would like to be notified of upcoming opportunities, please get in touch!

Or join our facebook group to check out the most up to date volunteering news.
