Our outreach programme is now up and running in line with Government and British Cycling guidance. Please get in contact with us if you have any questions.

Within our Making Trax Cycling Programme we have our widely successful school and community outreach programme, which has been operating in disadvantaged areas of London since 2016 & Bristol since 2017. The outreach model aims to drive youth, inclusion and diversity in cycling by working directly with schools, special educational needs centres and youth clubs to reach young people who don’t currently cycle or participate in physical activity.

The innovative style of coaching cycling that Making Trax has developed is profoundly changing the way cycling (one of the biggest if not the biggest participation activities in the UK) is being coached nationally for young people by making it considerably more effective and inclusive of inactive, disabled and disadvantaged target groups.  We are achieving this because the learning's that we have developed and have tested with Canterbury University are being adopted as best practice by British Cycling as part of their new national strategy.

BMX has been an Olympic sport since 2008 and has since grown, with the Freestyle BMX discipline added to the upcoming 2020 games in Tokyo and whilst its popularity lies in its fast paced and exciting nature, stripped back the discipline requires basic physical and cycling skills, which when combined with its distinctive ‘urban’ appeal make it a uniquely powerful tool to get more people active.

BMX is where it all started for me. It got me in to cycling; it captured my attention and my imagination when I was a kid - Sir Chris Hoy
